Carnival Vista

Year Built:
2016
Tonnage:
133,500
Passenger Capacity:
3,954
Ship Rating

Carnival has its largest ship to date planned for 2016. Not only will the Carnival Vista hold 3,954 passengers, but more features enhance the “fun” concept: an IMAX theater, on-sea brewing, and a 450-foot water slide, to name a few.

Accommodations

As the first ship in Carnival’s new Vista class, this vessel offers more space across its staterooms in general and introduced a families-only zone, complete with a lounge and cabins. As you’re planning your trip, you’ll have a choice of:

  • Carnival’s standard cabins: Inside, Outside, Balcony, Spa, and Suites.
  • Havana Cabins: New rooms with private outdoor patios adjacent to the Lanai promenade and the Havana Bar and Pool, a new spot for evening parties.
  • Family Harbor Cabins: These spaces offer room for up to five people and include a separate lounge area.

Dining

Access more than 20 dining choices on board your cruise, starting with some upgraded standards. Carnival designed this ship with two main dining rooms, Reflections and Horizons. Both will serve some items from the steakhouse at an additional cost, while the latter now features a bar for pre-dinner drinks.

Among the restaurants, the Seafood Shack, designed to emulate a New England seaside experience, is the newest edition. The ship further lets you explore:

  • Guy’s Burger Joint, the on-board restaurant from celebrity chef Guy Fieri
  • A candy store
  • Italian at Cucina del Capitano
  • Asian fusion at Ji Ji Asian Kitchen
  • Fresh Creations, a new chopped salad bar in the Serenity.
  • The Chef’s Table in a separate space. Here, diners can watch their food being prepared.

Activities & Entertainment

Carnival literally takes the “Fun Ship” concept to new heights. As part of the SportSquare’s SkyCourse, the new SkyRide is a new pedal-powered aerial attraction over an 800-foot track. This feature joins the SportSquare’s many games and activities.

If you’re looking to spend time in the outdoors, the Vista is equipped with three pools and the WaterWorks theme park, which Carnival expanded with a 450-foot tube slide.

For more, don’t forget to stop by Hasbro the Game Show, or explore The Warehouse, the ship’s dedicated arcade gaming space.

Carnival further considered how movies are viewed at sea, and thus added two new features. The Vista now includes the first IMAX at sea, where you’ll be able to watch the latest Hollywood flicks on a three-deck screen. The Thrill Theater, meanwhile, enhances the experience with 3-D and special effects.

Looking to relax? The two-deck Cloud 9 Spa lets you pick the best method: a thalassotherapy pool, four steam chambers, an infrared sauna, and sensory showers, to name some of the popular treatments.

For evening entertainment, there’s practically something for everyone. Laugh for a few hours at George Lopez’s Punchliner Comedy Club, or watch a musical revue with four new Playlist Production shows.

For a drink and a chat, you’ll find the perfect combination, from the BlueIguana Cantina to a Latin dance club to new brewery tours – with beer even made on board!

Enhancing the family concept, Carnival added to its list of activities for all ages. The Family Harbor Lounge includes large-screen TVs, games, and a free breakfast, while the Vista will be the first to have the Dr. Seuss Bookville, with character breakfasts and story time.
